EP Training’s Managing Director, Sean Pargeter, has voiced his concerns over the possible integration of Driver CPC into NVQ courses.
The Department for Transport (DfT) had hinted that their potential future plans for Driver CPC could see a partial amalgamation with the work based qualification.
Sean Pargeter believes this route could isolate older drivers.
“The industry found it more of a hindrance than doing 35 hours of training,” he said. “The NVQ doesn’t eliminate the problem of doing the same thing five times.”
He added: “Why would the more mature driver want to do stuff for their CV? It doesn’t relate to their job. They [older drivers] have done it before and it doesn’t work.”
