The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is urging drivers to be aware of fixed penalty scam emails currently being circulated.
The emails, claiming to be from the DVSA Fixed Penalty Office, contain a ‘fixed penalty receipt’ in the form of an attachment.
The government body has warned that the attachment should not be opened. They are also asking recipients not to click on any links or reply to the email. Instead, drivers should forward the details on to Action Fraud (click here to access this service).
The DVSA never issue fixed penalty notices by email.
