Unlike UK HGV Drivers, Republic of Ireland (ROI) Drivers must complete at least 7 hours Driver CPC training every 12 months. In the UK the requirement is 35 hours completed over a 5 year period. With recent financial problems in Ireland and the next “12 month” Driver CPC completion date looming a reminder of the importance of keeping up to date with Driver CPC training has been published.
Wednesday, December 8th, 2010 Truck drivers have been reminded of the importance of completing their Driver CPC training. The reminder comes from ISM Training Services, one the country’s leading Driver CPC trainers.“We would like to remind drivers on the week of the worst budget in living memory how important the CPC is for their job prospects,” an ISM spokesman commented.“No company can legally hire a driver who is not up to date with his or her Driver CPC. We are recommending that drivers do not to leave it until September 2011 to book their next module,” the spokesman added, As Christmas approaches the ISM has noticed a fall off in bookings for the Driver CPC. However, the New Year will be a particularly busy period for ISM Training Services.”We have a lot of bookings for January, but we would like to remind driver’s readers that they are still booking in Dublin, Waterford, Cork, Galway and Limerick for 2011,” the spokesman concluded.
If you drive professionally in the UK don’t leave your 35 hours till the last minute. Plan ahead and get some hours completed and under your belt. Look around and you will get some great deals from some excellent training companies.
