If you were unfortunate to have failed your HGV driving test you probably want to
know what your options are regarding a retest. Obvious questions include how quickly can I retest and how much will it cost me?
Most people who fail the driving test want to have another go as soon as possible.
Current government legislation says you have to wait at least 3 clear working days before an HGV retest can be taken.
This 3 days includes a Saturday. If for example, if you took your driving test on a Friday and failed then the earliest you could retest would be the following Wednesday.
Your training provider will try to get you back in asap, however its worth knowing, they can only retest you if a test is available.
All HGV driving tests are purchased and managed by the DSA. As current figures stand the HGV driving test fee is £115 on a weekday and £141 on a Saturday. Test fees incur no Vat. That’s the test fee and does not include for example, extra tuition or use of the vehicle for the test itself. It’s worth knowing before you book any training what the retest costs will be.
