New Conservative Prime Minister, Theresa May, has appointed Chris Grayling as the new Secretary of State for Transport.
Looking forward, the previous Leader of the House of Commons will, as well managing the HS2 and Heathrow Expansion, have to deal with the Brexit fallout that now surrounds the future of Driver CPC in the UK.
The MP for Epsom and Ewell also served as Shadow Secretary of State for Transport in the mid noughties when Labour was in power.
DfT to close?
Just two days ago it was reported in the national press that the Department for Transport (DfT) would close under the new PM’s management and would be replaced with a fresh department.
A spokesman for Downing Street later confirmed that this would not be the case.
